There are eight islands that make up the Channel Islands off the southern California coast. The northern four are off the coast of Santa Barbara and Ventura, and the southern four are off the coast of Los Angeles and San diego. All eight provide some of the world’s most spectacular diving because of the kelp forests, wide variety and abundance of wild life.
Several dive boat operators in Santa Barbara and Ventura provide easy access to some of the more interesting dive sites around the islands. One-day and multi-day liveaboard trips are available.
